Drop Shadow on Multiple Planes
I am somewhat new to After Effects but have spent many hours in it so far on a few small projects.
I have a video of a spinning flower (masked out from a green screen) and am animating it to float down over a blue square. i was able to make a drop shadow for the flower which looks pretty good, but i wanted to add an ADDITIONAL drop shadow that effects the blue square to give the illusion that the flower is close to the square.
im not sure if this would be best done through drop shadows or through 3d layers and lights. I’m not sure if the 3d lights in AE know only to effect just the flower (masked) part of the green screen video or if it treats videos just as a rectangle…

If you created a 3d blue square, use a light. AE will only use the masked portion
