I’ve lost a drive and my imported M100 footage from SD cards. I still have the archive of the original footage however. If I reimport the source footage to the old bins, will the program file relink by chance? Is there a workaround?

I still have my final ProRes output of my entire show but wanted to modify a few things and re-export a new final.

    Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately it is not that easy. Media 100 not only uses names for tracking files, but on import each media file gets an ID that is used for keeping track of media files. This way you can have various files with the same name in different (or the same) projects, and Media 100 knows which file is associated to which clip.

One thing you could try is to export an XML of your Timeline, and then edit the tags inside the XML to point to the new files, possibly by a batch-rename. Then either re-import the XML or use the “Update media from XML ” command in the Media Menu.

I made a tool a few months ago, to help edit the XML export from your timeline.
It simply finds all media paths and file names in the XML, and lets you edit them if you wish,
and then generates a new XML file for download with the media file names changed.
    If it’s useful at all…

Hi Floh – probably not on topic but I’m not very good at knowing where to go on the forum – I’m on a Mac Pro Tiger running Med 100 HDe and normally all is fine.
I had one internal HD 3.5 tb and called it HD 2
I added another the same recently and called it HD3. At first I didn’t notice any problems but now, when I set up ‘media destinations’ in the Med 100 and choose HD3, the titles that I create don’t appear on the timeline, even though they go through the business of rendering – well they do sometimes and then disappear. It is only the titles that don’t show – all other media is ok. If I set HD2 only as the destination for titles and others it works as usual. Have you any suggestions ? I know you have seen it all before – well I hope so ! Chris

    Believe what I see!

What type of volume (HFS, FAT, etc.) is HD3? Make sure it’s the same as HD2. Note that reformatting it will erase it.
