“My sequence is set at 29.97 ndf and the tape is a ndf tape.” 29.97ndf is a contradiction 29.97 is drop frame ndf is 30 fps. Tape is neither drop nor non-drop. What exactly are you doing. What do you mean by drifting. Are you losing audio synch?

i am not losing sync but the picture doesnt seem to match my timeline exactly. I have a grafic come up at 01:01:20:14 for example, on the tape it will be 6 frames off at 01:01:20:08. but i am not losing any sync, its just wierd how that is happening…this has never happened to me before with that many frames. have you heard fo this problem before? if so is there a way i can fix it? thank you for your reply

Are you laying out to tape? Are you using FW our RS422? Are you using edit to tape or crash inserting? Have you striped your tape to at least a minute or so past the point of where you want to beging the assemble? Be as specific as possible in what you are doing. I have no idea where to start with suggestion until I know what you are doing and what you want to do. List components of the system you are using.

Hey Scott, i am laying off to tape an uncompressed 720×486 sequence to digi beta using an rs 422. I am insert editing to a black and coded 12 min digi beta tape. Now the 2 pop lands on 59:58:00 and picture lands on the hr 01:00:00:00. Everything is in synce, but when i match the tape to my time line there seems to be some frames that are 6 frames off from my timeline. it is wierd…i hope these details help. Thanks for your help.
