drift problems on a MAC intel quad core
I wrote the post about not being able to open premier on my Win XP machine. We are also using in on a quad core intel MAC with leopard.
Here is the problem I am having with CS3. When I capture and then drag to the timeline, I get audio drift. All my setting are DV NTSC and I am using a Panasonic AG-DV2500 via Fire Wire for tape capture. I am boggled. I called adobe and they said they were working on a patch for that. that was 3 months ago, and I haven’t seen one. I few other said they are working on quad core and MACs and are saying they aren’t getting drift when capturing. Basically I have to capture in the Win XP machine, loaded with CS3 and transfer the files to edit on the MAC.
I am kind of in a bad place right now. I can’t capture on the MAC and Premier will not open on my XP machine. It was suggested that I capture using I movie, but what is the point? CS3 should work. If the fix is in CS4, I doubt my boss is going to pop for the upgrade.
If anyone has any suggestions to get rid of drift while capturing on the MAC, I am all ears. Since my Win XP machine is down, I have a bottleneck in my workflow.
