Dreamcolor, Resolve and new Windows setup
Hi,
I’ve been through the windows config guide but i’d still like to confirm a few points.
1. The implication is that resolve requires 2 graphics cards – one for the GUI and one for CUDA processing. So a single Quadro 4000 wouldn’t work? I can’t find the answer to this simple one!
2. I’m going to be using it with a dreamcolor. What is the current best way of setting this up? I presume i cannot just use the display port on the quadro to display port on the monitor for full 10 bit monitoring?
It seems that everyone is going through another card to output the video as video spec (probably makes for better monitoring). So i would need something like an intensity (I have USB3 on this config). So would a single intensity allow me to do this via HDMI? Are there issues with monitoring via HDMI off this box? (I read that some have to go via SDI out and convert to HDMI to the dream color but perhaps that’s fixed these days?). (I would also like to use it from a macbook pro at times, so a thunderbolt intensity might work for me there)
3. If i need two cards then it will be a quadro 4000 (i do 3D as well) and a low powerish Geforce with many CUDAs on. Are there recommended settings for this? If i am using the monitor off an intensity then do i need a quadro at all?? The main reason for one of those was the 10bit display port on it.
any advice really welcome, thanks
paul
