  Dreamcolor and HDP2 set up question

  Need some advice in setting up a Dreamcolor and AJA HDP2.

  I read a review by Jeremy Garchow where he suggested to set the Deep Color to ”on” and RGB Range to ”SMPTE” on the HDP2. The Dreamcolor is set on Rec.709 color space. With this set up, the contrast and white seems quite off. If i change the HDP2’s RGB Range to ”Full”, it’s 98% spot on compare to our other Sony grading monitors. I also believe the manual suggest Full RGB range….is there a reason why some people have it at SMPTE on the HDP2 for broadcast work ??

  My set up is:
  iMac 27”, OS 10.8.4, 32GB ram, 256 SSD
  AJA IO XT with color Space set to ” auto Detect” and RGB range set to ”SMPTE”
  Peragus R4
  AJA HDP2
  Dreamcolor set to REC.709
