    You could use the Paint tool internal to After Effects, or you could create everything in Illustrator or Photoshop, bring it in to After Effects, then apply an animated Turbulent Displace to it. Here’s an interesting tutorial on the second method:

    hi,

    thanks for writing back. what am thinking of doing is like animating the glasses and other small graphics on the screen.

    i have created the glasses on Photoshop, imported it into AE, used auto-trace to create the mask which i then linked to a stroke.

    only problem i have is the shot of the clip is facing away,having problems placing the glasses on the face of the character correctly.
    as you mentioned motion track,do you reckon that could solve the problem.

    You’re right, Dave – I was concentrating on the line art wiggling part of it, and ignored the whole tracking aspect. The jittery graphics is the easy part!
