  • Draw On Logo Effect

    Dear Forum Participants:

I would like to create an effect where a logo or other graphic appears to be drawn on the screen. You can view an example of what I am talking about by playing the video (screen: left) at the following URL:

    https://www.vitalstream.com

The “drawn on” logo in the above video appears in the first few seconds of the video. Thank you in advance for your help.

Search the COW posts for “signature” or “write” and you’ll find a few recipes. There should also be a tutorial, if I recall.

You can always just anitmate a mask to get that kind of effect. Just make a mask that covers the logo, and then animate the mask shape to reveal the image. You’ll want to the mask to be inverted, so that the mask is hiding the logo, and then reveals it as it comes off it. You’ll also want to make the mask animate in such a way that it follows the logo shape. Just play around with it, you’ll get the idea. I just did the same thing to make a chart/graph lines “draw on” and it worked really well.

Thank you both for taking the time to respond to my inquiry. Steve, I did a search before posting but did not come up with any good ideas. This is not to say there were not any related ideas but as with much written Internet communication, the authors did not take the time to write clearly; so I was not able to discern the authors’ point.

    Thank you again,

    John

For something very much the same, but a little flashier, you might check out ayato’s tutorial at this address:

Sometimes his instructions are a little hard to follow, but his stuff is golden.

    Good luck.
