Is there a way to make Vegas to draw an animated line [with or without an arrowhead] from (x1,y1) at time1 to (x2,y2) at time2? E.g., draw a blue line w/ arrowhead from (100,100) to (250,250), time indices t1 to t2 (a 1.5 second differential). Thanks.

Here’s one way of doing it.
Use your favourite paint program to create the desired arrow (with transparent background) or grab an arrow from Wingdings.
Drop this over top of your video clip and use Pan/Crop to position it.
Use a linear wipe of your choice on the arrow to reveal the arrow.

Well, if you don’t need the arrow head just use Media Generator to create a solid color rectangle and give it the dimensions of your line (e.g., 400 x 5). Then use pan crop to animate the two positions.

…and if you do need an arrow head, add the Sony Cookie Cutter FX to the generated media and select the arrow head shape and animate it as well.

    – OR –

Drop a solid generated media and use the mask tool to draw and animate any size or shaped arrow that you want. Animating the masks can be done with just two keyframes.
