Drag and Drop huh?
OK…
In the Sequence I have Source target Track 2 and video tracks 1 & 2 enabled
When I drag from source to record viewer in overwrite I would expect that:
a) the clip would land on V2
b) V1 would get overwritten with a gap the duration of the source marked clipInstead: the clip lands on V1?
However when I use the Overwrite Keyboard shortcut (,) I get the expected result.
Bug or me missing some logic?

Yes, Alex I picked up on this in CS4 when they introduced this system and I know they are looking at the best way to get it to function. I feel its a bug as the logic of it doesn’t make sense, but I think there were two trains of thought happening there, where a simplification is in order, such as removing the outer left v and a from source links, active tracks would suffice for me as it works with the insert and overlay shortcuts.
