DPX to QT – Parse header data to QT file
Hi,
This is slightly off topic, but I’m sure there a few here who work with DPX/Cineon files. We need to convert sequences of DPX files into QT movies. That part is not to hard and we have come across a few tools which will do a good job of both batching and scripting the process. However what we have nt been able to find is a single stand alone software tool which can read the SMPTE Timecode and UserBits info in the DPX header and create a TC Track in the QT movie with it.
We have looked at tools from Iridas, AJA, Adobe, Blackmagic, Pixel Farm, Graphics Converter and a number of smaller utility type products, but although they will do a good job of handling the image data, the header data is ignored.
So does anyone know of any such tool which could do this (apart from high end 2k conform and grade tools). Many of the companies have expressed that they could indeed implement this, but it could take some time.
