DPX Import into DS
Hello Everyone,
I find that when I get DPX files from a VFX house that the DS acts differently depending on how I import the files. If I seek out the files and import them directly, I get the DPX options window that lets me set LOG>LIN, Lut details etc. If I have a sequence that I am recapturing and I recapture the files from the clip folder, the DS does not present the DPX option box and imports the DPX files with some unknown and incorrect settings. Obviously, I would like to be able to import the files from the clip folder since this is more like the Avid Batch Import function instead of importing them from the wild and eye-matching them into place.
I am not on the latest DS so I do not know if this is the case in the latest versions.

Hi Jeff,
Are the offline clips you are recapturing in the clips folder originally quicktimes that you are now “pointing” to the DPX’s to replace? It should be applying the colorspace preference in the capture settings, Media Capture, Input Levels setting to any imported files. Although once it sees the dpx file the lut menu should come up, Does for version 10.1.1. Do you get the same result if you recapture from the timeline? Maybe try creating a new sequence then recapture from the clip folder.
