Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy DPX cropping

I have DPX files from 2 perf 35mm scans and 4 perf 35mm scans. The 2perf 2K scans are 1876 x 771 (as an aside, shouldn’t they be 2048 x 858?) and the 4 perf scans are larger. What is the most effective way of cropping the 4 per for 2.39 to match the 2 perf DPX files? Do you think an automated crop in Photoshop would be an ideal method? If I do in Final Cut, wouldn’t I have to render everything?

    Thanks!

Sounds like they did not give you a full size scan or it was an older style film scanner that has not been updated for HD. ( was it an older Spirit?) I get ArriLaser scans at 2048x 1152 or 1556 – I have never worked in the 2 perf format so I am not sure.

with Gluetools DPX workflow you can have the conversion set a correct aspect ratio on import, to allow for you to work modify the aspect ratio on conversion.
