Ok. I’ve searched the Internet for too long now so I will have to ask on here. Does anyone know how to specify which pixels survive or get deleted when down sizing video. Now I know software can optimize it but what I would like to do is pick which ones stay. If you can imagine I’m down sizing 4k to 1080p, essentially 4 pixels become one. Now I want to be able to specify a general rule over the video to pick one of the 4 pixels to stay.

Sorry it’s hard to explain, if 4 pixels are stacked in a square, and each square has a number 1-4. is it possible for me say I want pixel 1 to only be selected through the whole video. As in only select the top left pixel out of four to stay at every pixel once it’s down res’d.

Hopefully someone can figure out what I’m talking about. Thanks

And what if you wanted only the center of the 4 squares to be used? Hah! Only God knows. 🙂

Good question though and only folks working in engineering will know how things currently work – albeit, I doubt there is a way to select which pixel or combination of pixel parts is eventually used.

    Cheers

You can test this — it seems that with nearest-neighbor (draft mode) scaling down 25%, the lower-right pixel in a square of 4 pixels is the one used.
