I just finished shooting a short film with a Sony HDR FX1. This was 1080i HD in the “Cineframe 24” setting.(fake 24p) Anyway, I am done with the editing and am now wondering what the best settings are to kick this out to a SD DVD? I would obviously like to keep as much of the nice quality of the image. The short is roughly 8 minutes long. If anyone has any suggestions or past work with this format, I am all ears! Thanks in advance for the help!

Simply export a self contained file…and by simply I mean it will take a while to conform and do this as this is HDV footage. Use the Current settings, and do NOT recompress.

Take this file into Compressor and choose the High Quality 2 pass option. This will compress for SD DVD. Take the resulting files into DVD SP.
