    System Settings
    Final Cut Pro 7
2.66 Quad Core Mac Pro with 6g of Memory
    GeForce GT 120 512MB card
    Black Magic HD Extreme

    Sequence Settings
    1920×1080 interlaced HDTV 16:9
    Field dominance – upper (odd)
    Pixel – square

Project is a charity film shot HD 1080i on XDCAM EX but will be delivered to the client on Digital Betacam and DVD, although we will probably make a HDCAM SR Master for our own archive.

I know that with AJA Kona I could downconvert to standard definition during Edit to Tape, can I do the same with my Black Magic Card?

    Hi Francis,

That’s correct. You can down convert on edit to tape operations as well.

This down-convert during Edit to Tape from a HD 1920×1080 seq is done by setting the video out to downconvert in System Preferences, right?
How good is this hardware downconversion in an HD Extreme? Does anyone use it for broadcast?
