    Thanks for your help wrapping my mind around this one.

    That workflow would’ve been nice.

    By the way, 29.97 never factored in, our raw was 23.976 telecine without pulldown. Next time I’ll be more precise about 23.976 vs. 23.98 vs. 24 to my crew.

    It seems to me that if you’re going from film directly to digital files it would make sense to use 24fps throughout the process until you need to go to tape, at which point you could go through the process of adding a pulldown to your footage. At the very least, 24fps is a much easier frame rate to remember and much harder to get wrong.
