Hi, how do you do “layering” type effects in Vegas? I am shooting various sci-fi digital scenes and want to have alien or alien critters APPEAR and DISAPPEAR or FADE IN / FADE OUT, but HOW can this be done accurately without cheesy blue/green screen type artifact? Is this the realm of expensive MOTION GRAPHICS? Photoshop handles this kind of thing easily because it uses LAYERS! I am not aware of any layering ability in Vegas to do this kind of superimposition. Unless somebody has a way to do this they can explain to me. Perhaps exporting, do the effect, and then suck it back in on the timeline. I have always been uncertain about the ability of Vegas or any editor to do these kinds of effects would appreciate any further explanations………

Well Matte, Vegas can do all of that and more, and can use the
timeline as layers to create results like in Photoshop as you
mentioned, by using any or all of the following timeline features: Opacity Slider, Compositing Mode, Track Motion and Compositing Parent
    & Child
    .
