    Hey everyone,

Trying to get my Avid dongle to work in my PC, which is a HP 4400 workstation. It used to work but now after a system wipe it won’t install what I need to run Avid. Media composed gives me the following message, regardless of the dongles insertion…

NO DONGLE WAS FOUND. PLEASE CONNECT A VALID DONGLE TO THIS COMPUTER TO ENSURE PROPER OPERATION.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you scan the dongle with dongle manager does it see the dongle?

If not it may be a driver issue, try installing the sentinel drivers from the installer separate.

were there any errors when you did the install?

Just found and scanned with the Dongle Manager. Still no luck, I’ve tried it in all the USB drives and it always gives me the option to start a wizard to find an update.

Under the “update” tab in the Dongle Manager it says I need to locate an update myself that ends with “avd” The only “avd” I have is the donglescan.avd

And no, no errors in the install. However, since the first install the computer got a virus, was cleaned and wiped, and Avid was re-installed. The only difference seems to be in the dongle.

Yep, sounds like a driver to me. Try these steps:

    1. Remove the dongle from the system.

    2. Remove the Sentinel System Driver from your system using the Add/Remove programs Utility.

    3. Visit https://www.safenet-inc.com. Click on support, then select basic support and locate the Sentinel Super Pro driver and download this driver.

    4. Reinstall the Sentinel System Driver making sure the dongle is NOT connected to your system.

    5. Reconnect the dongle to your system and let the New Found Hardware Wizard find the dongle and driver on it’s own.

    6. Following a system restart your system should now recognize the USB dongle then run your versioner or dongle update if needed.
