  • Doing a clean install.

I am told that I have to do a clean install.

All my old prefs and stuff will get shoved into a folder called “old system” or something.

Does anyone know of some nifty program that would take all of that material and put it back in it’s proper placec in my “new” system. There used to be one for earlier OS 8 & 9 versions, but I haven’t found one which is Tiger compatible.

    Any ideas appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hi Harry,

Actually almost everything will already be there with the “Archive and Install” (be sure that you check the box labled something similar to “save network settings and preferences”).

I think I only needed to reinstall a printer, a third party menu program that displays the date AND time in the menu bar, and startup sound to mute the boot chime.

    Best Wishes,

    Mitch
