Does the project file save titles?
I am editing a project on FCP 7 and have a backup on a remote drive that is not with me. The entire contents of the project are close to 1 TB, and I only need to insert text in various places throughout the timeline.
If I save JUST the project file without rendering, will that bring the titles over when I open it on the new drive? (which has all of the same content except for the titles)
Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Yes, the you make with the text generator are stored on the FC project file.
