Does TH42PH10UKA support 720p 24?

we just picked up a TH-50PF10UK 50″ last week and it is SWEET (fed by Kona3) it also now comes with the HDMI and component cards already installed. SD is not too bad on it either. one thing about the PH series is they are not full 1920 x 1080 like the PFs.

FWIW, this has not caused any issues here when working with 1080i material. The plasmas still display the material perfectly.

In addition to being lower rez, the the PH10uk displays 24psf at 60hz. The PF10uk displays 24psf properly at 48hz refresh.
Set the K3 to 720/23.98 and the secondary to 1080/23.98 and feed that to the 10uk for proper editing.

Chris, that is good info about the refresh rate. Can you (or others watching the thread) answer a question for me?
My manual for the TH37PH9UK shows a “vertical frequency” of 47.92 for an input signal of 1080 24sf. Does this mean that it “displays 24psf properly at 48hz refresh” as you mentioned in your post?
I’m also curious as to why it lists the “vertical frequency” for 480 60i as 59.94 but for 720 60p and 1080 60i it’s 60. Why isn’t it 59.94 across the board?

Its been awhile, but from what I recall the PH9 series only displayed 24psf at 48 when using the RGB (analog) inputs, I remember not being able to get it to work properly using the HDSDI or DVI input cards, always added pulldown to display at 59.94. They fixed this on the 10 series.
as for 60hz at HD resolutions, not sure why they list that, probably Japanese to English typo. I know it is 59.94, that is what I program the display drivers for when using them in multichannel installations where sync is critical – and that is what their EDID lists for DVI.
