Does reverse telecine speed up footage?
Posted by Ben Murphy on January 5, 2010 at 2:58 pmHi Everyone,
An HD Cam tape that was 23.98 was ingested as 29.97. If I used the Cinema Tools Reverse Telecine command to go back to 24 fps, would that speed up the footage?

January 5, 2010 at 4:11 pmNo, if you rev telecine (i.e. remove the pulldown) you will be left with 23.976 media.

Thanks for the quick response!

January 5, 2010 at 4:48 pmNo change to the speed, no. It will look the same, it will just have the pulldown removed it it will be 24p instead of 60i (24p with pulldown). You will then edit on a 23.98 timeline.
