  • Does Premiere CS5 re-encode DV Video

    Hi!
If I import DV Pal video in DV Pal sequence without any effect and then export it to DV Pal preset will it be recompressed.
I ask it because I see difference between first and tenth copy.
    Thank You!

    Are You sure?
Where I can get info about it?
Because, as I know Premiere does not recompress dv video.

[Evgeny Malcev] “Because, as I know Premiere does not recompress dv video.”

It’s not supposed to — see Kevin Monahan’s Smart Rendering in Premiere Pro CS6 (6.0.1, and later) [link].

That said, I’m not sure what the first version to smart-render DV was, and I’m not sure what output format restrictions may apply.
