Does Pre-rendering effect the amount of time that it takes to render a video? I’m pre-rendering video clips so that I can commentate while the video is playing smoothly in the preview. I pre-render the clips in mp4. If I were to render the final project in mp4 with a couple new audio tracks and about 4 new video clips would the render time be considerably shorter?

I am not sure, i don’t use prerendering at all but I think it should work like you say. When you prerender parts of the project and the final render is in exactly the same format as prerenders and you didn’t touch what you prerendered, the final render should be much faster as it would only render what wasn’t prerendered and only-rewrite previously prerended parts.

Yeah, it seems like it should work that way but I haven’t noticed much change in the render times when I have tested it. The additional video clips at the end and the audio tracks over the video could have caused the results I noticed.
