I actually thought I had this problem at first and it turned out to be the optical mouse was not sitting properly on the mouse pad. If the mouse is lifted in any way so that the optical light shines off somewhere, it will wake up the mac immediately. weird I know, but that’s what I found.

    Hi Walter:

I just tried unplugging the mouse, the keyboard, the printer — anything on USB, and it still wakes as soon as it sleeps. The only other thing, at this point, is that I haven’t installed the KONA 2 software yet. Let’s see…

    Hello again…

So it still doesn’t seem to work properly. When I select SLEEP, the monitor turns off, and I think the fans turn off, but the light doesn’t do it’s ‘sleeping breathing’ — so I suspect that it’s not in DEEP SLEEP mode. Any ideas?

I’ve got the latest firmware for the Kona 2 and the latest drivers. I’m currently running FCP 4.5 in OS 10.4.1.

    Thanks again for any insight.

    Best, JIM.
