If I shoot 720/24P on the HDX900, will my Kona card be able to remove the duplicate frames like it does with the Varicam?

Also, I’m guessing that it doesn’t add flags to 1080/24P or 1080/24PA material. So the best way to remove those extra fields is digitizing over firewire.

    Correct Russell.
Extracting the 24/25/30/50/60 frame rates work the same way, Use the Kona easy setup for 24p

Make sure you use the Aja Kona Easy Setup 720p23.98 Varicam to handle the flags properly

Panasonic’s version of 24p are laid to 1080 60i on the tape, (not the 24 frames on HDCAM) but works the same way, however 24pA gives better results without the mushy C frame, however you do need to extract the redundant frames over FW only.

That’s what I figured. Thanks! I guess it’s time to get the firewire port on my 1200 deck fixed.
