    Yes…but it might be glitchy, might not work as well as it does on the current OS you have. Because the current OS was written with FCP 7 in mind, whereas Mavericks was not. If you need to rely on FCP 7 to earn a living, I’d recommend against the upgrade.

    No I don’t require final cut for a living, I use both fp7 and x but I like 7 better because of the converting options as they are slowly upgrading x

    Why not try running it in a bootable partition?

    Or better: create a new system drive, install Mavericks (it’s free), and test there.

    I’m running FC7 fine on Mavericks (newer machine, Late 2013 iMac, so Mavericks came installed).
    At present I’m using two mavericks partitions: one for 7 and one ready for possible migration to FCX.
    Currently using that second partition only for the new Compressor.
