  • Does FCP recognize the JVC SR-DVM700 deck yet?

I know there have been past complaints by people who have not had any luck getting FCP to recognize the JVC SR-DVM700 deck. I am in the same boat. Does anybody know if this situation is any better?

waht are you trying to do with it? I know outputting to it or trying to control the dvd burner was always iffy, but you shoud be able to capture DV via firewire, no?

If possible I would like to use the JVC deck as a record AND playback device: I want to be able to burn DVD’s of my FCP sequences and also play discs on the JVC and capture them in FCP. As of now I can’t do either. When I launch the capture tool it states that there is “no communication’ and I get no picture. I think my settings are correct but I am no 100% sure:

    device controlFirewire NTSC
    Capture/InputDVNTSC 48 khz
View / External VideoAll Frames (I have even refreshed devices)

I have also power cycled the computer and reset the JVC deck.
