  • Does Blackmagic capture 1080 25p or 1080 25psf?

I have a project coming my way, were the client wants 1080 25p or 1080 25psf. They can’t work in 1080 50i because of interlaced artifacts. Does Blackmagic capture this frequency and does it work? Does it capture in it’s own Blackmagic codec or does it allow you to capture in the Uncompress FCP 10-bit codec?

    Thank You

    Hi Marcus,

We use 25PsF and capture to the Uncompressed FCP 10-bit codec.

You’ll use the 1080i50 setup in Final Cut Pro that we provide, but set the field dominance to NONE in the sequence settings.

What about the file that is captured? If the tape is 25psf and the digitizer is set of 50i.
Does this add any interlace artifacts?

Thank You for Your Time & Patience
