Does anyone know how to replicate this effect in After Effects??
First things first, the effect in question is demonstrated very clearly in this youtube video = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtCfEcUEYaY
I understand there is motion tracking involved, but I would like to know how he stacks all the layers (like the shapes around the phone screen and the videos on the screen) and has them all follow the movement of the phone screen. Is it done using separate compositions? Is it all in the same composition? Does he apply the tracking to each video?
If anyone could work it out and help me I would appreciate it. ☺

you are overthinking this…seperate tracks..seperate compositions..how would that make sense…its one track with layers above that track….it should be obvious. that there are about 7-10 layers above the tracked layer

He’s not tracking all the layers! He tracked only the phone screen (poorly). And applied that track to a 3d null. Link a bunch of comps to that null displaced the comps in minus Z. Animate a bunch of screens flickering inside each comp. Done.
