I’m trying to customize a wipe transition during an opening title sequence very similar to the opening credits like Streets of Fire. What I’m trying to accomplish is have one credit shown, then the burning wipe dissolve through it, revealing another name credit. I’d like the burning wipe to start from right, then torches across the frame. Do I have to purchase Boris plugin effects to accomplish this? I’ve tried doing tons of research and looked up tutorials, and I just can’t seem to find anything so I would appreciate any tips on how to pull this off.

I edit in Final Cut Pro and do my post work — compositing, color correction, visual effects, etc — in After Effects. I sometimes use Motion 4.

    Thanks

    Here’s one way: [link]

Here’s another idea: [link] You’d have to adapt this one a bit.
