it’s just a great animation. theres no plugin or script that will do it for you.

there are many different ways of achieving it. for example you might record this as live footage as a reference, or to key it out and then color, or you could for example do some things in pure 3d and then render out and import to ae.

there are hundreds of other ways. you just have to think this through and decide what’s best for you and your project.

An animation, wow, I have done something simular to this in flash and it was pretty time consuming, but the animator/s have done a real clean job of this, that’s why I thought it was a possible plugin or every one wore green at the shoot which acted like a green screen and the colours were applied later to make life easier.

    Cheers!

The actors weren’t wearing green clothes but instead performing in front of a green screen. Then after being keyed, they actors, as well as the objects, were then replaced with solid colors. That coupled with creating some of the elements manually such as the door and the outside of the building.

Ahh cool, that makes total sense kAMA, thanks I think I can visualise how it was done now.

I am very very new to Aftereffects; but does anyone know if I created a sequence like the one we are discussing that I will be a able to also vectorize it and then import it into Flash?

I’ve done something similar for a something I did a while back… I just filmed a guy walking in front of a green screen, then used keylight to pull a rough key and then just used AE’s layer autotrace to generate an animated mask that was applied to a solid.
