  • Does anyone have a ProRes 422 Codec available for Vista 64?

I’ve searched all over but can’t find out if anyone makes a ProRes 422 Codec (commonly used in FCP) for Windows Vista 64. I’ve got a few .mov files that my Quicktime Pro won’t recognize. After Effects recognizes it, but it’s way too complicated when you have hundreds of clips your searching through to open them up in AE.

Thanks for any help guys/gals! 🙂

    hi Wes,
you don’t need any codec, just install the last QT for Windows.

Hi Rafael, thanks for your reply. I already did the update, yet it still doesn’t work. I get audio, just no video in QT when trying to view the videos.

Yes, QT Player has a read-only codec.

    Is very strange.
Until the last QT for Windows release, was necessary to install a free reader.
Was downloadable from Apple website. I don’t know if will still be available and if its works for you, but you may try.
you may ask as well in the “Apple&Windows in a Mac” Forum. There they know about QT for Windows.
    cheers,
    rafael
