    i want a canon camera for my business that has an external mic hook up and a manual focus. is there one? if so is there one under 1,000?

    I have used the Canon HV20 now the HV30-40 for three years with a Rode External Stereo Condenser Mike off the hot shoe and the Canon 5D mark II with the same mike with professional results for a variety of sources such as quite wave motion to jazz. of course there are others.

    I have owned the Canon HF20 for about 6 months. A very good hard-disc/SD camera for the price (I paid under $700), which must be fairly cheap, by now. External mic jack, and a shoe. Mic control is very useful. There is a manual focus, which I have not used on this camera.
