  • DOES Adobe PP support JVC HDV 720P IN PAL?

Posted by Lee on November 1, 2005 at 3:10 pm

    Hi

    I’m using
    a Boxx system
    Dual processor xeon 3.06
    2 gigs of ram
    256 mb graphics card

Adobe premiere pro 1.5.1 with HDV codec instead
    JVC HDV Pal camcorder
Does Adobe HDV plug-in support 720P 25fps PAL?In the pull down menu it doesnt seem to have it

    Thanks

    P

Wow…strange. It doesn’t seem to be there.

I wonder if this was simply an oversight…?

My recommendation would be to simply make a custom project setting using the 720p 30 setting as a base and change the frame rate and save the new setting.

Let us know if that works…I’d be curious to know.

    Hey Tim

    No it doesnt work!

    Have I been conned?
On the JVC box with the camera it says adobe supports it and on the adobe website it says it supports the JVC camera but just not in pal?

Do you have any insiders in adobe who could answer?

    Paul

    Paul…

What exactly “doesn’t work” when you make a 25p 720 project setting?

Theoretically I can make one here, but I don’t have a 720p HDV camera to test it with…

It tries to capture, freezes and closes down the program.
I have tried it more than 10 times and same thing.

Tried it on another computer and same thing happens

OK, I have a message in on it. Things are pretty busy over Adobe way these days, but I hope to hear something on this soon…

The basic project settings were based on the available camcorders at the time…the HD100 is brand new.

The AspectHD plugin to PPro from CineForm has a project setting for that camera.

You could download a demo at http://www.cineform.com
