    Hey guys,
I’m new to Motion 5 and am about to start an animated intro for my film. It’ll be a simple but speedy 2D “cut out’ looking sequence along the lines of the intro for the AMC show “Turn”. Do you guys recommend using Photoshop or Illustrator when creating the initial images I’ll send into Motion 5? I won’t be dealing with any text until it gets to Motion.

    Thanks for any info!
    Glenn

Depends on what exactly you’re looking to create. Illustrator files can’t be imported (other than as PDF) into Motion. Of course most things (such as shapes, masks etc.) are just as well if not better made directly in Motion, with the accompanying flexibility. Question is to what degree either apps are in fact even necessary. But if has to be the one or other, then you’re best using high-res PS files.
