Do we expect an update to Boris Red to support Vegas Pro 9?
Posted by Fotis Vassis on April 27, 2009 at 2:16 pmJust preordered the Vegas Pro 9 and I am curious if we need an update for Red to support it, or is it enough to just move the plugins to the new folder of the v.9?

I think you should be okay but just to be on the safe side I’m checking with QA.
Cheers,
Peter.

April 27, 2009 at 8:19 pmQA is an abbreviation for Quality Assurance. We have a group of “QA” engineers whose job it is to rigorously test all of our software before it is released. I checked with them and they tell me that the current version of RED 4 will operate as expected in Vegas Pro 9.
Cheers,
Peter.

April 28, 2009 at 1:15 pmThanks for your answer. By the way, I always wanted to ask you this
Some months ago I downloaded a trial version of Color Finesse to try it with Red. Unfortunatelly it doesn’t work and comes up with some errors ( I am not in front of the workstation now to tell you exactly). Have you ever tried a (probably) earlier version of that plugin which works? (referring to the color finesse plugin, installer for other compatible applications)

April 28, 2009 at 4:32 pmHi,
I believe that the Color Finesse plug-in was a little problematic insofar as bringing up the interface for the filter. If it’s important to your workflow to use this filter in RED then I would like to ask you to please send in a detailed report to support@borisfx.com and we’ll see if there is a way that we can engineer a solution for the next update of RED.
Cheers,
Peter.
