  • Do the Audio Mixer Sliders Dynamically update in FCP 5 ?

    Hey Guys,

I’m working on a client’s FCP 5 machine for the first time today (my first time on FCP 5, too) and I’m noticing that when I’m playing a timeline and adjust, say, track #5 (VO) by grabbing the Audio Mixer Tool’s slider, the system responds by lowering or raising the volume as expected but the slider does not move along with the mouse pointer to reflect that change until I hit pause and then play again–then the slider snaps to it’s new level posistion. I am NOT recording audio keyframes, either, just adjusting the volume on a per clip basis. Don’t like this new “bug/UDF” as it’s hard to get any visual feedback from the GUI.

    Anyone else?

Did you turn on record keyframes? Little button in the upper right corner of the mixer.

Nope, I’m trying to adjust the clip level as a whole.

I’ve never seen this happen. It may be a function of the number of tracks. You might try the usual trash preferences.
