Do not erase
I am not sure if this has been addressed before. I found that you can not use the do not erase function over a background image. I had to use the background image to place the emitters then delete the background, then record the emitters on a pure blue background and then reassemble the two in my NLE program… Is that the only way? https://phansen.ca/TreeGrow.wmv

Yes, that’s the only way to do it. Drawing the background image effectively erases what was on the stage in the previous frame, so it counteracts “don’t erase”.
