    If you are supplying broadcast commercials or programming, using a computer monitor, even a reasonably calibrated one, is not as dependable as viewing on a broadcast monitor…interlace is particularly critical.

    With the Adobe Suite of software, most video card manufacturers support Photoshop and AE output so you can scope materials before you render or save them and have to import them into Premiere Pro…

    Does everyone need an external video card for editing? …probably not.

    Are external video cards still useful/necessary for many types of workflows/deliverables? …absolutely.
