    Hello All,

First…forgive me for posting here, but I use FCP to edit, and I know this forum is active (and has no lack of opinions).

I’ve been away from shooting and editing for about 3 years. I dusted off my camera, and re-familiarized myself with Final Cut Pro. In this 3 year period, it seems as though the camera technology has really changed. I was wondering, is my Panasonic DVX 100B a dinosaur now? Should I unload it (get something while I can) and get some new technology?

If that is the case, this is an appropriate semi-pro level for my work. A recommendation would be appreciated. Of course, if the camera is still suitable, then I’ll save my money.

    Thank you.

You didn’t mention what you shoot. That has a huge bearing.
Do you need to shoot HD??? Then you need a new cam.
Only need SD? Then you’re set.

If shooting for fun or for the internet i would still use it but if you want to make money from it, you are lacking the power of recent technology.

DVX100 is a warhorse but it is old. i think you should start looking for some new equipment, dont let yourself run out of date.
