Do I need to upgrade ver 5.0.4?
Hi there,
Were looking into getting a few Sony Ex3’s and I’m trying to figure out how much it would cost on the post side. It would be nice to upgrade all 3 seats, but we would prefer to put that off to a later date.
1)Will I need to upgrade FCP to use this camera or will it work on ver 5?
2) If we upgrade to FCP 2, will I have to upgrade all my plugins or will they work as is.
The main purpose of these cameras are for the in-house team using their Premiere system. Our group will use them maybe 10% of the time. All that to say, what’s the bare minimum that I’ll need to do?
We’ve got
FCP 5.0.4, Kona LHe
Two dual 2.7s G5s 4GB Ram
One quad 2.5 G5 4Gb RamBoris Graffiti v4
Boris BCC v3
Sapphire v1
DFT 55mm v5
Ultimatte v1Software upgrades are possible, hardware upgrades are unlikely till the next fiscal (next June).

I’m afraid most of the plugins won’t work with FC6.

Um, when I did the upgrade to FCP6 last year, the vast majority of my plug-ins worked just fine. Did I just get lucky?
