Do I need a Xena card?
Im going to be building a Xeon workstation.
I just want something to preview my broadcast out, to check video feed.
My main apps are.
Maya and AE.As of right now, Im only working in DV and plans for a HDV cam.
At first Ill be using four SATA2 in RAID5.(this will be for my OS and apps)
Later, Ill add SCSI RAID and scsi harddrives. Please advise me how to set my SCSI?????????

this is what you are going to do. You are going to buy a HP xw8200 to run this card. It will come with native LSI Logic dual SCSI controller. You are going to buy a Sonnet X4P SATA host card, and put it into slot 4. You will buy a Sonnet Fusion 500P, and stick your SATA drives in there. When you want SCSI later, you will buy a HUGE U320RX SCSI array, which will do uncompressed HD.
If you want to “home brew” this stuff to save money, look for help somewhere else. Everything I told you here works perfectly, and will run beautifully with the Xena card, and all of your applications.
