Do GOP settings affect a DVDs abaility to playback in standard players
Do GOP settings affect a DVDs abaility to playback in standard players. I know it affects the quality. I’m trying my best to make a 2 hour video shot with some poor quality cameras, look as good as possible and also have no playback issues on old players. It seems when I boost the average bitrate or reduce the gop, it helps the fuzzy scenes become less blocky.
Whatever I do, I’m afraid of effecting playback on old DVD players.I’me hoping to use 2pass
avg 6.0
max 7.2
on Verbatum DL media
with ac3 audiovia FCP/compressor/DVD Studio
Should I be afraid to go above 6.0. I heard I should stick to 5.5 average bitrate for best compatibility. Is that true?
Thanks for any help
Jim
