September 8, 2010 at 1:55 amI (the guy who started the thread) ended up getting an enclosure from Macsales, the Mercury Elite AL-Pro. Although it has been recommended by many, lo and behold, less than a month later…it doesn’t turn on. At all. For about 2 weeks it would randomly disconnect from my computer and then one day, it disconnected, and never came back on.
I have to return it back to them and since I am not in the US, I have to pay for the shipping back to them.
Again, I have heard good things but based on my experience i cannot recommend their products. I do however, appreciate their customer service, very nice people indeed. Their online chat is composed of people who actually talk like humans unlike robots from other companies.
Just a heads up to anybody looking for a hard drive.
