DNxHD/HR MXF on Ki Pro Ultra Plus
We are looking for a recorder capable of DNXHD/HR MXF recording.
Is Ki Pro Ultra Plus a suitable solution? Does it use official Avid tech to produce those files? It is really important for our QC. FFmpeg or some other reverse engineered implementation would not cut it. -

So, you say the BBC, Disney and some other big names are using inferior implementations of the codec?

The question is not regarding the superiority or inferiority but whether or not AVIDs technology/SDK is used or was DNxHD reverse engineered for this particular product.
This was a pretty straightforward question and not an invitation for philosophical discussion. -

I would have sworn you were questioning the quality of FFmpeg / FFMBC.
Now I see the errors of my way.
