Ok, so I’m going to work on our Avid Adrenaline with Avid DNxHD. I need to output to Quicktime h.264. Any recommendations on acquisition? Should I shoot DVCPRO HD or HDCAM. Does it matter?… why?….help! Thanks!!

You shoot either DVCPRO HD or HDCAM based on the advantages and disadvantages of those formats; look, resolution;, color space, etc.

DNxHD itself does not care – it is designed to retain the full quality of all HD formats throughout the post process ensuring a mastering quality image. From there you will make your farther compressed delivery formats.

Does it matter that I’m outputting to Apples Quicktime H.264 – which is 24P?

H.264 does not have a defined frane rate, it encodes to the frame rate of the source material. If your source is 24p, then your encode will be 24p.
