I plan to have a Digital Cinema Package made for a 69 Minute documentary I just finished. I downloaded the AVID DNxHD template as recommended on John Rofrano’s website.

I shot the film on a LUMIX GH-3 DSLR, 1080p 24p intra at 72Mbs/S. It looks really great on DVDs and BluRays from VP12 and DVD Architect 6.

The DCP post house will take an AVID DNxHD file render. Their guidelines require that:

I provide ” 100% accurate Color-Space, Gamma, and Code Value Range Information (head vs full”

I ran some successful tests with the following settings:

    HD 1920×1080, 24frames, 24bbp Color

Color Levels – 709 as recommended by John Rofrano (BTW:why not RGB Levels?) 1080p/24 DNxHD 175 10bit.

Hopefully, John Rofrano or someone on this forum can help me figure out how I can find the answers to Color-Space, Gamma (I believe 2.2 but how do I know for sure) and Code Value Range questions.

    Thanks

Why not RGB is because HD uses 709.

I know nothing about DCP (sorry) so if it needs RGB or different Gamma setting then hopefully someone else can help. I just know that delivering HD for broadcast you would use 709.
