DNxHD noise??
I just finished a project edited in Avid MC 3,
The project has been edited in 1080/50 DNxHD 120.
I want to export with the best quality possible to Color correct in After Effects and the come back to Avid for final touches..So…. I did some test and the best result is the same-as-source quicktime.
BUT, here is something REALLY strange that is driving me MAD!!
The project has been edited in 1080/50 DNxHD 120.
1)Exporting a “same as source” quicktime looks exactly like the material inside Avid.
BUT..
2)Exporting with the ”quicktime movie” option, and selecting the exact same codec and format that the project has (1080/50 DNxHD 120), the exporting results have a strange white noise all over them….
How could this be??
“Same as source” and choosing the “1080/50 DNxHD 120” manually are supposed to be the exact same thing, aren’t they?
The both options give me a quick time movie with the exact same characteristics: Quick time movie DNxHD 120, 8 bits… but one has the noice and the other doesn´t..So……. why look further if I have a good result with same as source?…
Well the thing is that once we finish color correction in After effects, we have to export using the DNxHD codec to go back to Avid…and the results out of After Effects have that horrible white noise…
Is this a bug in the DNxHD codecs? Please, can someone shed some light on this?
Is there a better way to go out of AE??? PNG files, or the Quick time NONE (no compression) option? The problem is that those give me huge files…Thanks guys… and sorry for the long post!!!
